Visa and LINE Pay will jointly develop blockchain-based fintech services

Payment giant Visa and Japanese fintech-company LINE Pay signed a joint development agreement new financial services using distributed ledger technology.

Both companies announced cooperation in the field of innovative financial solutions, global payment services, platforms for translations and blockchain. Future decentralized annexes will allow users and corporate clients to make cross-border transfers and transactions with alternative currencies (the press release did not specify, will be whether this is cryptocurrencies).

In addition to work over joint blockchain-based products, collaboration will simplify interaction between clients both companies, which also will be able to use physical exchange points of partners, order new digital cards and integrate existing ones for mobile payments.
